Jack Effel has just announced the bounties that are up for grabs in this tournament. With a total of $5,456,500 to be handed out, the bounties are spread out over 1,006 bounties. If you happen to pick up a bounty worth more than $25,000, you'll be asked to go to the podium to grab a bounty out of the big chest, which includes two envelopes worth $1,000,000 each. Jeff Platt and Natalie Bode will be the emcees guiding the proceedings. And there's another reason to celebrate today, as it's Platt's birthday.
There have already been 22 levels of play and plenty of chips put into bags as players make their way to Day 2 of Event #3: $1,000 Mystery Millions at the 2023 WSOP at the Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas. After some massive swings, big pots, and four full days of great poker, just 1,006 players remain from the field of 18,194 who took their shot at glory in the starting flights. Day 2 begins at 10 a.m. and players are excited for the portion of the tournament they have all been waiting for, the mystery bounties.
Players will all have their eyes on the treasure chest in the center of the room as at least one lucky person will walk away with the life-changing million-dollar bounty. With this being the largest field ever for this event and one of the largest fields for any event in WSOP history, there may even be a possibility of a second million dollars up for grabs!
All returning players are in the money, but that $1,000,000 guaranteed first-place prize may not be first on everyone's mind, with massive bounties waiting to be drawn.
If players want their shot at plucking any of the large bounties, they will need to put their chips to work. Ronan Nally bagged the chip lead with 2,820,000 after a great showing and some run-good on Day 1d. Other notable stacks include Calvin Anderson with 2,390,000, Zack Wilson with 2,350,000, and WSOP bracelet winner Kevin Eyster with 2,180,000.
Some other notables remaining include Matt Affleck with 1,880,000, Tyler Cornell with 1,540,000, and Stephen Song with 1,390,000. The lucky player who pulled last years top bounty of $1 million, Matt Glantz, found a bag again this year. Could we see a back-to-back winner of the same top prize? Only time will tell and the other players surely wont make it easy.
Cards go in the air at 10 a.m. and everyone will play 17 more levels or until only five players remain, whichever comes first. There will be a 15 min break every three levels and a 60-minute dinner break after level 31 ( 4:30 p.m.). Please note that players will draw a random bounty prize for every player they eliminate. Top bounty prize is guaranteed $1,000,000, but bounties cannot be redeemed until after 4:00 p.m.
Stay tuned into PokerNews all day for updates on who pulls the million dollar top prize and for every WSOP bracelet event this summer.
