Terence Reid Bags Top Stack After 41 Players Survive Day 1b
Another full day of action occurred during Day 1b of the 2022 Mid-States Poker Tour (MSPT) Running Aces $1,100 Main Event with the hard stop being reached in Level 15 with 27:50 remaining.
The second of three flights drew 348 entries to bring the two-day total thus far to 586 and with that number, the $500K GTD has already been surpassed with one flight remaining.
Of those 348 entries, 40 players remained when chips went into bags with Terence Reid bagging the top stack thus far with 653,000.
Reid was the only player to bag north of 600k but Sandeep Cherukuri was hot on his tail all through out the tournament and ended the night second in chips with 580,000.
Josh Bozarth had steadily built-up stack throughout the day but his biggest payday came in a set-over-set hand against Paul Carney to be able to put 488,000 into his bag at the end of the night.
The top five stacks are rounded out by Shane Maki (449,000), and Craig Fierhe (442,000), who were the only other players to bag north of 400k.

Among those also not as lucky at the felt as Matheson included MSPT Hall of Famer's Jason Seitz, Pat Steele & Blake Bohn, along with MSPT Champ's Mark Sandness, Peixin Liu, and Chris Moon, with at least a few if not all of them likely to be seen back in action for the final flight.
All players who haven't found a Day 2 birth will get one last chance to do so tomorrow for Day 1c starting Noon with late registration and re-entries remaining open through Level 12 (approximately 9:10 p.m.).
