Day 1 Completed
Event 07-M: $200 NLHE [8-Max, Jersey Special, $35K Gtd] proved to be a rapid one. The relatively fast structure saw 112 unique entrants (with 72 re-entries) dwindling down to a champion after just over seven hours of play.
After a back-and-forth heads-up battle, it was John "GameofEdges" Forlenza who took down the event and the $6,952.83 prize that went with it.
Forlenza, who has enjoyed an “unreal” last couple of months, took down a World Series of Poker Online Sunday Major just last week. Today’s score will add to a rapidly-growing list of accomplishments for Forlenza.
It has been an unreal last couple of months. Took down the WSOP Sunday Major for my biggest score to date! https://t.co/qEwzIjg7eT

Final Table Action
The final table began with "OtB_RedHeron" in a commanding position with approximately ~100 big blinds to start. The majority of the other players began with 40 big blinds or less as a result of the tournament's fast structure.
"OtB_RedHeron" would get off to a poor start, however, with Angel "Chr0meKing" Lopez almost immediately doubling through them. It didn't take long for the shorter stacks of the final table to begin busting out, starting with "3mptyS0ul", who was quickly followed by "el binko", "shipitshell" and "sri100k" respectively.
Action slowed down a bit afterwards, but rapidly escalating blinds ensured swift action with many hands becoming all-in preflop affairs. Forlenza benefited from such scenarios, as he was responsible for knocking out "Scooby-D0O" and "Hustle_Man93" in quick succession.
Forlenza maintained his momentum and found himself heads-up against Lopez at a slight chip disadvantage after Lopez eliminated "OtB_RedHeron" in 3rd place.
A key hand for Forlenza occurred when he doubled through Lopez after hitting an open-ended straight draw after being all-in on the flop. From there, it was a back-and-forth battle until the blinds got to a point where pre-flop shoves were the norm. After getting ground down, Lopez shoved with a dominated hand and couldn't improve against Forlenza.
This concludes today's coverage of Event 07-M: $200 NLHE [8-Max, Jersey Special], $35K Gtd. Stay tuned to PokerNews for more 2021 NJSCOOP action in the coming days!
