Day 1 Completed
"GrndChalengChmp" has claimed the most recent title of the PokerStars Michigan Championship of Online Poker (MICOOP) , topping a field of 461 total entries in Event #31: $250 NLHE [Sunday Special SE], $100K GTD.
The tournament started with 172 players and that number kept gradually building until the 461 total entries became official. The 332 entries and 129 re-entries just eclipsed the guarantee generating a $107,413 prize pool meaning, the top 63 finishers would get a piece of the pie with 183 players remaining.
After registration closed the virtual bodies fell at a steady pace and after a few short levels, "raykbr1253" was eliminated on the bubble, leaving the remaining players in the money.
From there, players started dropping by the wayside as Brent "WellWaterWendel" Burrows (50th place - $523.67), "PowerRanges" (32nd Place - $661.98), "Gamestop2012" (19th Place - $836.85), "sexycaitlyn" (14th Place - $1,057.89), and "Young$$$REDBONE" (10th Place - $1,337.33) fell short of the making final table.

8 | Steve "Gamerguy123456" Caswell | $2,289.99 |
9 | Mike "PeppSee" Long | $1,690.57 |
Mike "PeppSee" Long and Steve "Gamerguy123456" Caswell came into the final table at the bottom of the chip counts so it was no surprise to see them become the first two casualties.
The next level saw Peter "PLH729" Hotaling's big-slick come up short against "smftt" holding a pair of cowboys and "A3PGOAT" fell shortly after in the same level.
The wheels of fortune turned for "smftt" after their pocket tens came up short against "PimpMyBalance" holding a suited ace-king ending their night in fifth place for $5,691.51
Action slowed down after the final four players were reached and a full level almost went by before "cbauer6789" knocked out "TheWamboozler" with pocket queens against ace-ten, then they eliminated "PimpMyBalance" the following hand shortly after, sending the action into heads-up play.
Both players entered the heads-up battle with equal stack sizes but a classic race left "cbauer6789" with crumbs. "cbauer6789" found a small double but only lasted few more hands before being eliminated runner-up.

Andrew "autokorekt" Korby has been on a nice little run on PokerStars Michigan thanks to winning three tournaments in two days. While none of them were official MICOOP events, it was still a nice little heater for the 32-year-old who has been playing the game since the age of 14.
Korby, a full-time pro from Farmington, first took down the $100 NLHE Nightly Stars by besting a 134-entry field for $2,731.11. He followed that up by besting a 45-entry field to win the $200 Bounty Builder PKO for nearly $3,000 more. Finally, he would claim a $20 nightly title for another $1,340.
"Nothing crazy but still not bad," he told PokerNews. Korby usually plays $1-$2 and $2-$5 pot-limit Omaha but has been grinding tournaments now that PokerStars has come to Michigan (he's happy to no longer be traveling over the border to Windsor, Canada to have to play).
"It's nice to have some early success on the new Michigan PokerStars as it's been a long time coming since we've been able to play on here," said Korby, a self-taught player who as put in "lots of hours" and experienced "crazy swings" playing PLO.
According to The Hendon Mob, Korby has $51,701 in live lifetime earnings dating back to 2011. That includes a career-high $9,661 for finishing second in a 2015 Wynn Summer Classic $300 NLH event.
In Level 35 with blinds at 80,000/160,000/20,000, "smftt" raised to 420,000 from under the gun and "PimpMyBalance" three-bet to 1,204,000 next to act.
Action folded back to "smftt" who jammed for 2,742,356 and was called by "PimpMyBalance".
