High Rollers Mateos and Hajiyev Are Looking Good
It was late last night when Jean-Noel Thorel and Rainer Kempe battled it out heads up in the 25,500 Single-Day High Roller, but it wasn't much earlier for the third and fourth place finishers, Adrian Mateos and Ramin Hajiyev. The two high rollers however are having a good day so far, with stacks far above the current average.
"I couldn't sleep last night," Hajiyev told us when we went to check up on him, "I just had so much adrenaline from the final table."
Hajiyev finished third for 250,900, and today he came back to the Main Event with 55,000 chips.
"I got some presents today," Hajiyev said with a smile, "Christmas presents."
The man from Azerbaijan said, as he's currently sitting on 162,000 chips.
A few tables over we caught Mateos enjoying a massage, and the fourth-place finisher from last night's quietly building a stack as well, having 182,000 out in front of him.
