Unlike previous flights where there were only one or two tables in the early levels, Day 1e started off with a bang as over 35 players locked and loaded before the cards were in the air. This surge turned into a massive wave of players entering throughout the day, with the 200 mark being hit by 3:00 p.m.!
Although there was no shortage of action, it seemed to take a while before any players started pulling away from the pack. The first player to reach 300,000 was Elvin Simpson by the second break who then held onto the lead for the remainder of the day until he took a big hit from Abusaleh when his set fell to a turned straight on the bubble. Around the same time on a neighboring table, Borovetz scooped a massive pot with kings against the top pair top-kicker of Son Nguyen to break the million-chip mark. Jolly ended up making his run late in the tournament as well when he shoved all in on the river against Andy Dennis in a big pot. Dennis wound up making the fold but Jolly showed him a stone bluff to score the pot and he used that momentum to climb his way to the top of the counts.
As this is the sixth of seven starting flights, there is only tomorrow’s Day 1g Turbo flight that remains and it kicks off at 8 a.m.
Day 2 kicks off at 3 p.m. local time and the full seat draw and chip counts will be posted once Day 1f &1g finishes so be on the lookout on PokerNews!
