In the Spotlight: Ponte, Lampropulos Most Searched in Poker This Week
The Hendon Mob database of tournament poker results is a much-consulted site for poker players and fans alike. Among the many rankings available on the site are ongoing lists of most searched players over the last week. Such lists provide quick snapshots of which tournament poker players are currently "in the spotlight" with their profiles being looked at the most.
Here are the most searched players on Hendon Mob over the last seven days as reported by the site this morning, Saturday, April 29:
Position | Player | Last Week |
---|---|---|
1st | Salomon Ponte | 27th |
2nd | Maria Lampropulos | -- |
3rd | Charlie Carrel | 7th |
4th | Fedor Holz | 2nd |
5th | Daniel Negreanu | 1st |
6th | Jacob Mulhern | -- |
7th | Shaun Deeb | 70th |
8th | Katie Swift | 133rd |
9th | Daniel Colman | 4th |
10th | Brandon Cantu | 200th |
Following a controversial appearance on Poker Night in America a week ago and much subsequent furor on social media thereafter Salomon Ponte's Hendon Mob page has been viewed a lot of late, and more than anyone else's over the last seven days.
There the site's visitors are finding that in January 2016 Ponte won the Seminole Lucky Hearts WPT DeepStacks Main Event for $344,420. Shaun Deeb (7th) and Brandon Cantu (10th) also played in the $25/$50 no-limit hold'em cash game on PNIA.
Maria Lampropulos (2nd) is getting a lot of views as well thanks to her huge 1,000,000 win in the partypokerLIVE MILLIONS Dusk Till Dawn Main Event.
Jacob Mulhern (6th) finished runner-up to Lampropulos in that event and Katie Swift (8th) took seventh, earning both of them a lot of attention this week as well.
Meanwhile Charlie Carrel (3rd), Fedor Holz (4th), Daniel Negreanu (5th) and Daniel Colman (9th) are all in action this week at the PokerStars Championship presented by Monte-Carlo Casino?. None of the four has cashed in Monaco yet, but each continues to get a high number of look-ups as usual.
Hendon Mob also maintains a updated list of players with the biggest increase in unique hits over the previous seven days, a.k.a. the "Top Movers." Here's a look at that list as it appears this morning:
Position | Player | Last Week |
---|---|---|
1st | Jacob Mulhern | +21400% |
2nd | Maria Lampropulos | +8874% |
3rd | Brandon Cantu | +742% |
4th | Katie Swift | +596% |
5th | Salomon Ponte | +590% |
6th | Kelly Winterhalter | +543% |
7th | Ivan Luca | +491% |
8th | Shaun Deeb | +388% |
9th | Stephen Chidwick | +209% |
10th | Charlie Carrel | +153% |
There were six newcomers to the overall top 10 most searched players on Hendon Mob (Mulhern, Lampropulos, Cantu, Swift, Ponte and Deeb), and all six therefore predictably appear on the "Top Movers" list, too. Charlie Carrel also had a big enough increase in views to crack this list as well.
Kelly Winterhalter featured here as a "Calling the Clock" participant last month appeared on a short segment with Phil Hellmuth during a latest episode of Poker Night in America this week and has played on PNIA recently as well.
Ivan Luca has earned over $4 million in tournament cashes over his career, but his page likely got some extra views this week since he and Lampropulos are a couple. And Stephen Chidwick has over $7.5 million in career cashes, having added another by finishing sixth in that partypokerLIVE MILLIONS Main Event won by Lampropulos.
